ELV contractors, CCTV installers, system integrators, distributors and project buyers preparing a CCTV system BOQ.
Start from the site layout
Before asking for quotation, confirm how many cameras are indoor, outdoor, long distance, PoE or analog. This helps decide whether the project needs Cat6 cable, coaxial cable, fiber optic cable, cabinet, PDU or extra power cable.
Common material groups
A complete CCTV material list normally includes network cable, security cable, outdoor cable, fiber optic products, network cabinet, PDU, patch panel, RJ45 plug, labels, cable ties and installation accessories.
Where fiber becomes useful
Fiber is often used when cameras are far from the control room, several buildings need to be connected, or a campus project needs backbone transmission.

Information to Send for Quotation
Send camera quantity, cable route, indoor/outdoor environment, cabinet quantity, BOQ, drawings or product photos. LAIE can help organize product categories and quotation suggestions.
Small Details That Usually Affect CCTV Material Cost
Many buyers compare CCTV project cost only by camera quantity. In practice, cable length, cabinet position, outdoor routes, PoE load and fiber backbone can change the material list a lot.
When the site has several buildings, outdoor poles or a long distance to the control room, ask the installer to mark the cable route before requesting a quotation. This helps avoid missing fiber optic cable, ODF, media converters or weather-resistant cable.
For Vietnam CCTV projects and Southeast Asia security jobs, mixed purchasing is common. A single BOQ may include network cable, security cable, cabinet, PDU, patch cord, optical accessories and access-control materials.
Quotation Tip
For a faster CCTV project quotation, send camera quantity, cable route, indoor/outdoor location, expected PoE switch position, cabinet quantity and any existing BOQ or drawing.
FAQ
Can I send only a camera layout?
Yes. A layout, photo or rough quantity list is useful for early discussion.
Does every CCTV project need fiber?
No. Fiber is mainly used for long distance, campus backbone or building-to-building links.
Can CCTV cabling and cabinets be quoted together?
Yes. Cabling, fiber, cabinets, PDU and accessories can be grouped in one material list.
